Introduction

AI PromptShot ("PromptShot", "we", "us") is a free tool for turning AI prompts into shareable screenshot images. This Privacy Policy describes how the current version of PromptShot handles information. It reflects how the product actually works today, not planned or hypothetical future features.

Information We Collect

PromptShot is a client-side static web application. The prompt text, platform, theme, and size you choose in the editor are held in your browser's memory while you use the page. We do not operate a backend server that receives, logs, or collects this content.

Loading any web page still involves ordinary web infrastructure — your browser, network, and hosting provider may process standard technical information (such as IP address and request logs) simply to deliver the page to you. That happens outside PromptShot's control, as it does for any website, and is not something PromptShot itself collects or stores.

Information We Do Not Store

PromptShot does not currently have:

• A user account or login system
• A server-side database of prompts or images
• Prompt history tied to you or any identifier
• Cloud storage of your prompts, templates, or exported images
• An analytics system tracking your usage
• Advertising trackers

If any of this changes in a future version of PromptShot, this policy will be updated before that functionality goes live.

How PromptShot Processes Prompts

When you type or paste a prompt into PromptShot, that text is rendered directly in your browser to build the preview you see on screen. There is no AI processing involved — PromptShot does not send your prompt to any AI model, and it does not analyze, rewrite, or evaluate the content of your prompt in any way. It simply formats the text you provide into a styled image.

Generating the downloadable image (PNG) also happens entirely client-side, using your browser's own rendering capabilities. Your prompt text is not uploaded anywhere as part of this process.

Share Links and Privacy

PromptShot's share links work by encoding your prompt, platform, theme, and size directly into the URL itself — there is no server-side storage behind a share link, and no ID that points to data held somewhere else. The link is the data.

This means anyone who receives a share link can decode it and see the prompt contained inside — including services that may log or preview URLs, such as chat apps, browser history, or link-preview bots. Please avoid putting confidential, personal, proprietary, or otherwise sensitive information into a prompt before generating a share link. If you want to share the visual without exposing editable prompt text, use PNG download or Copy Image instead.

Cookies and Tracking

PromptShot does not set its own cookies and does not use tracking pixels, fingerprinting scripts, or third-party advertising trackers. If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect it.

Third-Party Services

PromptShot does not embed third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The page is served as a static site, which necessarily involves hosting and network infrastructure providers that handle web traffic in the ordinary course of delivering any website — this is standard for all websites and is not specific to, or additional tracking by, PromptShot.

Browser Storage / Clipboard

Some features may use your browser's own local storage capabilities to remember editor preferences on your device, and nowhere else. Clipboard features, such as Copy Image or Copy Share Link, use standard browser clipboard APIs where your browser supports them; where a browser doesn't support a given clipboard operation, PromptShot tells you rather than failing silently. None of this data is transmitted to us.

Data Security

Because prompt content is processed in your browser rather than sent to a server, there is no PromptShot-operated database of prompts to secure or breach. The site is served over HTTPS to protect the integrity of the page itself in transit.

Children's Privacy

PromptShot does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect prompt content or personal information at all in its current form. PromptShot is not directed at children and should be used in accordance with the terms of the underlying AI platforms referenced in your prompts.

External Links

PromptShot may link to external sites, such as AI platforms or documentation. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external websites. Please review their own privacy policies before sharing information with them.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

If PromptShot's architecture changes — for example, if we introduce accounts, server-side storage, or analytics — this Privacy Policy will be updated to accurately describe the new functionality before it is released. Check back here periodically for updates.
